The plan for the day was to drive to Coos Bay, check it out, photos along the way and return to Florence and buy Crab Chowder from Novelli’s Seafood and Chowder on the docks. Along the way we stopped at this Veteran’s Memorial along Hwy 101 near Gardiner, Oregon. Check out the little slide show!
We strolled the boardwalk in Coos Bay, ate lunch at a German Restaurant and visited the Japanese Garden.
We returned to Florence, stopping off at Novelli’s Seafood and Chowder on the docks. Commercial caught crab is not in season right now, but we bought some of their award winning crab chowder, took it home and reheated it for supper! Below is a picture of the bridge leaving Florence on 101 heading to Coos Bay. Also a picture of Novelli’s, not quite as picturesque as the seafood market at Coos Bay!
