We’ve had terrible cell phone coverage out here, and struggled to get this blog post put together. It was from Friday, August 2!
Our campground at Pacific Beach Resort was chosen because it is in between Whidbey Island (Joanette’s home turf, the home of the Jason Joiner Clan, our three grandsons, and Joanette’s brothers David and Boyd) and Oregon, our next camping destination with Keith’s brother and brother-in-law. It was also chosen because we had never camped at the ocean and thought it would be fun for our Grandsons.

On Friday we took off for a beautiful 3 hour drive to Whidbey to visit family, our dear friend Lyla and whisk two of our Grandsons, Gracen and Lincoln back for a week of camping with us!
Our first day together also happened to be the North Beach Community Fair which we walked to. We met, Bagley Beaver (WA State Dept of Parks mascot) Smoky the Bear and a big dalmation (fire dept mascot?). Good grandparents buy their grandkids Slime, and we did not disappoint! We also learned alot about the Grays Harbor Fire Department and the work of firemen. A good time was had by all of us!

After lunch and a nap, we went to the beach. It was very windy and quite cool, so we did a quick stroll down the beach, watched some kite fliers and wore the dogs out! Now we are relaxing with an old Will Rogers movie! Good wholesome fun!
Oh my goodness! Your Joiner grandsons are getting so big! How fun that you get to take them in the home on wheels!! Its almost time for Copperhead Football! Miss you guys!
