Our last couple of days in Bixby, where Keith’s Dad and his lovely wife Janet live, we spent a good portion of one day at the Oklahoma Aquarium in nearby Jenks. We took Goober on another day to the Bixby Washington Irving Park. We learned about America’s first author to actually earn a living from his books who traveled through this very area. We went home and downloaded a couple of his writings for future reading (o.k., listening). The park also features a steel girder recovered from the rubble of the World Trade Center after 9/11. “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning”?
Our time in Bixby was wonderful. We had great hosts. Our only regret is that it was way to hot to help with any projects around the place. That will be our goal when we return in November. Dad needs a hand with the garage and the garden!
